The Supermarine S.6B

... won the Schneider Trophy in 1931. Its predecessors, the S.5 and the S.6, won in 1927 and 1929 respectively.

The Schneider Trophy competition was first held in 1913, and after a break during the First World War it was held annually from 1919. From 1927 it was held every two years, to allow more time for development.

The rules of the Schneider Trophy specified that if any team won it three times in five years, they kept the trophy permanently. By 1931 the French and Americans had long since dropped out of the competition, leaving only the British and Italians; and this year the Italians were unable to compete due to technical problems. So one of the two British teams was bound to win; and once they'd done so, that – much to the regret of many observers – was the end of the competition.

It was revived – "in name if not in concept", to quote Wikipedia – by the Royal Aero Club of Great Britain in 1981, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Britain's ultimate retention of the Trophy. Wikipedia has the result from 1981, and those for every year from 1984 up to and including 2015 – when they just stop. So either the competition ceased again, or some Wikipedian editor lost interest in keeping the results up to date!
